We do already have a GSM unit on the gate, but due to the very poor signal in this area, it is unreliable.
The other problem we have is that the gate is out of sight from the house from Although it's only 200m in a straight line, it is roughly a 500m walk to get from the house to a point where you can see whether the gate is open or not.
That is quite a distance.
With this much distance, it's really difficult to get good signal strength.
