I was asked to look at a problem with a Robus Sliding Gate.
The lights , which were connected to the SCA output , to illuminate the area when the gate was in motion , cable to these were bit in half by an animal .
This blew the 1.6 Amp fuse on the Model : RBA3HS Item : RBA3HSR10 control unit.
When I replaced the fuse , installed the bayonet cap locking fuse holder back into the unit.
The gate then worked as it should but then has been intermittemt.
The unit also has the optional backup battery unit PS124.
I believe that the fuse may not be actually installed correctly.
With the battery backup installed , the leds light up on the control unit.
Removing the battery backup and there are no leds lit on the control unit.
When it is this condition the unit does not respond to the remote control , which is understandable.
Am I right in thinking that some the units leds should be lit up when power is applied to the unit when fed solely from the mains power supply?
If this is the case I need to sort the fuse problem out .
Another thing , does the optional backup power supply need programming , to say it is present or works automatically when it is plugged into the unit.
Any help appreciated.
