Gate remotes stopped working
#1
Hi there, first time poster.

I have a Liftmaster 500 electric gate motor with I think failsafe photocells.

We went away over the weekend and come back, the remotes are no longer working.

Checked the CB22 circuit board and open and close led's are flashing red which seems to indicate photocell problem which tallies with the troubleshooting guide in the manual.

Now the remotes are still working because I pulled out the photocell plug on the CB22 and got them to relearn which they did.

Ive check the connections each end on the photocells with no issues.

Have the photocells developed a fault or is the circuit board having a moment?

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

If the LED's on the board are flashing then this does not indicate a photocell fault. The Diagnosis for photocells is as follows:

LED Flashing: No photocell connected to relevant circuit. Circuit OK.
LED OFF: Photocells connected. Circuit OK.
LED ON RED: Photocells connected, Problem with photocells. Check for obstacle blocking infra red beam, Check lens covers, check wiring.

If you could check the above diagnostics on your control panel, we can determine from here what the problem may be. If everything appears ok on the circuit board, then it may be eith interference in the area affecting the range on your remote's. Or it could be the radio board located on the right hand side of the control panel, which has failed.

Hope this has helped.
Kindest Regards,
Dave
