Daitem SC902AU - Nice Toona 5 24V
#1
Hi,

I have a Daitem SC902AU and Nice Toona 5 24V gate motors (MC824H control unit) and am a little confused with the connection of the Daitem to open and close the gates.

In the Daitem manual it shows that you connect to terminal blocks 12 © and 14 (NO) not sure what the and NO is???

On the MC824H you have open and close terminals if I connect the Daitem to this the gate opens via the handset but does not close via the handset - Not sure what I'm missing???

Secondly, regarding manual setup via the MC824H. If I set all of the positions using the 8 LEDs the gates seem to ignore the max closed positions (0) and keep closing until they can't go any further and the same with the max open positions (they stop short of the positions I set). The way I read it (manual) I thought if you set these positions the gates would move to each of the settings?

Thanks in advance,

Dale

Hi Dale,
With regards to the Daitem, The NO and C terminals are switching contacts. NO stands for Normally Open, and C stands for Common. This basically means this is an open circuit until promted, then it will put a short accross what ever contacts you have wired in to. I.E. the OPEN terminals on the MC824H control panel. Once wired into these contacts the control panel will only recognise the signal from the handset as an Open command. If you wire into 'PP' instead of the 'OPEN' contacts, then this should change that behaviour to what you require. However these boards all come factory set with a 30 second 'Auto Close' feature as standard. If you want to change this setting, you will have to go into the advanced perameters. As for your gates not metting their limit stops, this could be down to a variety of scenarios. Normally i would look for any increased friction of movement after disengaging the arm. If you find there are, then this could be down to the gate not being level, the geometry of the arm being incorrect, or the arm not being level throughout the operation.

I have attached a simple setup guide for the MC824H which if you follow step by step, should have you up and running correcly within a few minutes.

Hope this has helped.

Kindest Regards,
Dave Blake

Thanks very much for a very useful reply, makes complete sense.

I will have a look at the weekend and hopefully make some progress.

Thanks,
