Swing gate safety edge
#1
Hi,

I am installing a metal 5 bar gate with a roger swing motor. For safety I am putting a safety edge on the end of the gate where it closes. The only obvious place to install it is on the flat box section that will meet the slam post as this is the pinch point. I am hesitating as I am concerned when the gate closes it will meet the post and then activate the safety edge thus opening the gate again??

Unless the resistance won’t be enough to cause this?

Thanks

Hi,

thankyou for your enquiry i appreciate your concern and is infact a commonly asked question.

this is all dependant on the profile depth.

the profile depth must be a small profile such as our SKL15-10 or our GF15.25

this will most likely prevent activation of the safety edge.

this is also down to the way it is programmed i would suggest doing an advanced limit search if possible and stopping it short of the edge preventing activation of the edge.

hope this helps.

Regards Joe
