Hi Im a DIYer
My system - Bft SubR. Rigel 5 control board.
My lead gate is only opening a few inches then stops.
Do I need to top up the hydraulic oil.
When topping up hydraulic oil do I need to isolate the mains power supply and use the Triangle key to disengage the hydraulics. Im afraid hydraulic oil will spurt out under pressure from fill port.

Hi,
Yes the oil does sound like it could do with topping up, the problem you have is that air may be inside the motor which will still continue to cause a problem even after topping up. It sounds to me like you could do with a potential service by a gate automation installer before it becomes quite costly.

Thanks for your reply. I ordered hydraulic oil and when I went to top oil up noticed that it is Full.
The air lock might be the problem. Can you tell me where the bleed valve is and how to go about bleeding.
I had this motor repaired by service engineer only few months ago. He had motor & pump away for weeks and when he reinstalled again the gate was half as slow opening & closing then now only opening few inches.
I will not go back to this firm as very dissapointed with their work, they didnt even have a grease gun and didnt service gates when i asked.
