The electronics has failed so time to replace
The gate is all metal so when it's hot the fit is tight, when it's cold there is a gap (and the latch can be forced open)
We need: an interphone outside. 2 interphones inside plus a bell in the garden. remote gate latch operation (pref the sort that buzzes when actuated) and note the gap issue means the solenoid type isn't great, and we really should do better
The gate is about 50m from the house, the wifi doesn't reach that far. We have a telephone cable (4 thin cores) and a better cable (3 x 0.75mm2 cores) available, we also have mains available at the gate (powerline might work I suppose)
