New enclosure for existing control panel
#1
Hi, I inherited a 'less-than-professional' installation of CAME automated gate. Height of original CAME control panel box is very close to ground level and attracted slugs. It is also too crowded to include additional accessories such as loop detector & intercom PSU. I would like to put CAME case (with other components) into a roomier outdoor box (IP65 or IP66) and can't decide between plastic vs steel. Steel may be more durable but is about 3 times heavier (and expensive) - is a plastic (ABS) enclosure would be a good enough choice for this?
Also, the above CAME box is vented (front) - does this mean I better have some vents in the new box as well or can the bigger enclosure be a fully sealed one?
