Hi,
The clicking you can hear on the board is presumably the relay activating. This is completely normal. Have you completed the initial setup of the gate? As you will not be able to simply plug and play, the open and close limits will need to be programmed and devices will need to be learnt in. If this has not been done the gate will not operate. You should be able to find the step by step setup guide in the manual provided with the kit.
If you have completed the learning stage on the panel and the gate is still not operating, you can check the panel for diagnostics. A flashing light should appear on the panel, each sequence of flashes can be linked to different fault diagnostics in the manual.
I would also check that the photocells are in line and are not obstructed by anything, as if obstructed the gate will not open. Continuity of the cables could also be checked. You could also check the voltage going to the photocells. I believe the photocells for the FAAC 401-MP have 30v D.C going into terminals 5 on the receiver side 2 on the transmitter side.
Voltage from the motor terminals could be checked also.
