lyn300/cb24 problem or not???

lyn300 opens closes fine(single gate) but after about 2/3rd of opening or
closing cycle speed drops to a crawl.

initial voltage to motor arm 24vdc but drops to near 8 volts when motor slows

been installed about 3 years and worked fine until water got into photocell
(i replaced ok)

client says gate did not reduce speed(ramp down) so much previously

limits set ok and all works well.

can i alter ramp down voltage in any way??? help

Hi mick,
It just sounds like the batteries may need replacing for the board. With the 24V series of the LYN300's, they are primarily powered directly from the batteries located behind the control panel. The 24V AC input on the bottom left hand side of the board sends a trickle of charge to the batteries to keep them fully charged. Do you have anything powered off the board like a maglock? If so I would recommend using a dedicated PSU for that. Once the accessories have been removed, leave the system on to charge the batteries over night without use. A good 8 - 12 hours should do it. Then try again. If the fault replicates, then you should replace the batteries.
