Chamberlain MotorLift 5000 Garage Door Opener

Having some trouble with a Chamberlain MotorLift 5000 Garage Door Opener ..

The problem is that when the door is operated the light goes out just a few seconds after? along with the green LED light on the control panel (appears to be a loss of power? to the PCB board), power can be restored again "intermittently" by either tapping the unit, or pushing on the PCB board, or sometimes the power just resumes itself!..

Anybody any idea's?..

I've been in touch with Chamberlain, but they have never come across this problem!...

It indeed sounds like a dry joint or burnt out joint on the circuit board.
