Motorlift 5000 with bad memory

Hi, We have a Chamberlain Motorlift 5000 garage door opener that has worked faultlessly for a long time but recently it has not been responding to the remotes sometimes.
If I go through the procedure for setting the remote to the door unit it works for a day or so then seems to forget it and have to set it up again.
Same thing happens with both remotes and have put new batteries in both of them.
Anyone got any ideas ?

It sounds like either the range is dropping heavily or the logic board has completely gone. There are 2 options.

1. Replace the logic board for the system (you'll need to find out which frequency your remotes are operating on)
2. Hard wire an additional receiver onto the back of the motor using the 3 terminals which are numbered. This will allow you to use newer remotes which will be more readily available in the future. i believe the 4335E will be discontinued in the near future, and if its the 4185E then this has already been discontinued and are no longer available.

Thanks for that, I don't think it is a range problem as I can see the little green light on the back of the unit up to about 10 M away through a door in the back of the garage and it still flashes whenever a remote is pressed but the door opener only responds if I constantly pair it to a remote.
Just had a look on ebay and there are receivers and remotes from china for a fiver that say are for that sort of application.
