Nice Era EPMB 3 flashes not recognised by control unit - budda - 10-06-2024 I have an MC824H control unit installed with two pairs of BlueBUS photo cells and two rubber gate bumpers. Recently the gate stopped opening from either the remote fob or the buttons on the control unit. Through a process of elimination, the internal pair of Photocells appeared to be the issue blocking the gates from being allowed to open. The Photocell LED was flashing three times then pausing on one, and solid LED on the other. From the manual this indicates they weren't recognised by the MC824H. Alignment of the TX and RX Photocells was checked and no amount of re-scanning helped make them work. I also did power cycling of the control unit in an attempt to get them recognised. So a new set of Nice Era EPMB Photocells was ordered to replace them. Sadly, no difference with the new Photocells either, same LED sequence flashing. I then used some new cat5 cable to hook up the two new photocells in parallel to the MC824H BlueBUS and put the photocells opposite each other close together to check if they worked - nope, same LED sequence issue. I'm currently out of troubleshooting ideas to determine the problem/cause now. Any ideas? RE: Nice Era EPMB 3 flashes not recognised by control unit - budda - 13-07-2024 Any ideas, anybody? I’m stumped! Also had a security guy taking a look with no further progress. Spoken to NICE tech support and they went through the same steps I’d already described and done myself. Above. RE: Nice Era EPMB 3 flashes not recognised by control unit - Michael - 16-07-2024 Hi, There could be an issue with the BLUEBUS output itself. Have you checked the voltage that is coming from the output and what is it reading? providing you have checked the following... Alignment BLUEBUS search to memorise the photocells CONTINUETY test between cables My guess would be that there is a potential fault with the board. Regards Mike |
