Liftmaster MYQ Internet gateway - koen_dc - 23-04-2020

Hello,
I just bought the MYQ INTERNET GATEWAY 828EV.
I was able to install and connect the gateway to my garage motor unit (model LM80 EVS).

However i'm only able to open the garage.
when the garage is already open, i'm unable to close the garage via the app or website.
(getting error like: device not responding, please try again later)

anyone can help me out here? :-)

Hi,
To be able to remotely close the door through the app you require photocells to be installed. They are the 771E photocells and Liftmaster/Chamberlain have done this so you are unable to close the door if there is an obstruction blocking the photocell beam.

Hello Ryan, thank you for the info.
I have a camera in the garage, so no need for those photocells in my case and just wondering -- is there is a way of working around this limitation with some kind of garage opener settings / connections, etc.?
My garage opener model is Liftmaster LM100EVF, would be appreciative for any kind of advice.

Hi Arnold,

You would still need to connect the 771E to the operator to fully use the MYQ for the door to close I'm afraid as there are no settings you can change.

Regards
Mike

Hi Mike, thanks much for the reply.
Obviously not an ideal situation, with no use for these sensors sounds like I'll need to be looking for some 3rd party solutions like meross, etc.
