BFT Rigel 5 with a Z-Wave Relay? - dannys1 - 18-09-2016 Hi guys, I'm looking to wire up a wireless relay into my old Rigel 5 box that controls our gates. I've had a scan through the manual and roughly figured out where I should be heading but i'm still a little confused. I want to use something like, or similar to these https://www.amazon.co.uk/Z-Wave-2%C2%A0Schalter-Measuring-Function-PHIEPAN04%C2%A01B/dp/B00UVOPT10/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1474225358&sr=8-7&keywords=fibaro+relay http://www.vesternet.com/z-wave-fibaro-relay-insert-1-2-5-kw They power off mains, so I was thinking I could use 10-11 on the board for Live and Neutral. Then how would I send the "start impulse" I imagine I would wire NO1 from the relay in the first image to perhaps 32? "OPEN", or would it be 28? There is another product from Fibaro called the Roller Shutter 2 which rather than just trigger the "start impulse" could technically open and close the gates, presumably that would go into 32 for open and 33 for close? Whilst that would give me more control, id then have to program my home automation system (SmartThings in this case) to also close the gates behind us, it makes more sense to let the Rigel 5 do this as its been doing successfully for years - and program SmartThings to "press" the start impulse again if we want it to keep the gates open at any point. Looking forward to input from those that know the Rigel panel - we did have a push button door bell wired up to this at some point, so i'm assuming its actually fairly easy to send start the "start impulse" command. RE: BFT Rigel 5 with a Z-Wave Relay? - dannys1 - 19-09-2016 I've been told on the SmartThings forum the Mimolite is the thing to use for this. It has a COM and N.O. output, so to trigger the start impule I assume I want the COM to go to 27 and the N.O. to 28? Hopefully someone could confirm that. RE: BFT Rigel 5 with a Z-Wave Relay? - dannys1 - 21-09-2016 Anyone? RE: BFT Rigel 5 with a Z-Wave Relay? - EllisO - 28-11-2016 Dan I see on the SmartThings forum that you got the MimoLite working with the Rigel 5. Can you confirm the connections, as you mention 2 different ones in your various posts? thanks |
