How secure are automated systems? - piersmh - 19-06-2016 Hi everyone, Doing a bit of research before buying an opener. Planning to purchase a Chamberlain ML1000EV for a 12' wide sectional door. I'll have to remove the current lock and side-bolt mechanism as it won't work as it is. When in place, does the system stop a person from opening the door by hand? I'm talking about a deterrent from kids & the like, not a determined thief. The other question is; in the event of failure, is it possible to override this, if necessary? Not sure if this is a common thing or not. TIA, Piers |
