Changing the gate code - paulthegman - 27-03-2012

Hi,
I have recently moved into my new old home, loving the already fitted Easygates controlled by nice.
I was given 4x remotes for the system and all work good, but the property was let out for a while to an unknow amount of people before I purchased it.
I can see how easy it is to clone a new remote from a current one and wondered what was involved in actually changing the main signal as if the gates were new and remove the chance of someone out there being able to open my gates.
Also the remotes have two buttons, the top one opens and closes, the bottom one seems to do nothing?
My remote is the dark grey one with white buttons,
Nice ON2 2-channel Remote control transmitter

Thanks

Paul

RE: Changing the gate code - Blakey111 - 27-03-2012

Hi Paul,
On the gate system you have, I would reccomend to clear the memory on the receiver. This will be located in the control panel down by the gates. You do this by going by the following instructions:

01. Press and hold the receiver key and check the following
changes in Led status:
– (after approx. 4 seconds) the green led illuminates;
– (after approx. 4 seconds) the green led turns off;
– (after approx. 4 seconds) the green led starts flashing.

02. At this point release the key exactly......
• on the 3rd flash, to delete all transmitters, or,
• on the 5th flash, to delete the entire memory of the
receiver, including configurations and encoding families of
the transmitters.

Once this procedure has been done you can reprogram your existing remotes by pressing the programming button on the receiver for around 2 seconds and releasing, then press the button on the remote you wish to use. The other button on your remote is just used in the case of any more NICE automation being added to your property. In this instance you would be able to program one button to operate your automated gates and the other to operate, say a garage door opener.

Hope this helped!

Thanks for the reply,
So to be clear should I do it on the 3rd or the 5th to stop someone from the past entering my gates. If I do the 5th light and it removes all configuration will I have to set up which gate closes first and how far it should close?

Thanks

Paul
