Rams electric or hydraulic - Laser - 13-01-2016

I'm intending to electrify my double leaf swing gates my neighbour has the same size gates ie 3.2m wide (1.6 leafs). We live in a windy exposed area, and he was advised to use an electric /hydraulic ram system, he has't used a gate stop,because when closed there is no movement and no problem with wind,however I've been told that with these new type brushless electric Rams are as strong as the hydraulic type any advice would be welcomed:

Hi,

Standard electro-mechanical rams are usually pretty good when it comes to wind. Although i would recommend going for a 230v system as this is not as reactive to force settings. By using a 230v system, i would ensure that safety edges are fitted where relevant. The information required can be found at the link below.
